Communities of Practice

- Sign-up for a Peer Group -

The success of our Community of Practice peer group initiative will be dependent on encouraging motivated farm leaders to host a peer group.

Hosts would be asked to contribute in the following way:

  • Agree to share contact information of a group of 8-12 peers that you would like to be invited to an event at your farm shop or at a community meeting place.

  • The host simply provides a location to meet and a connection to peers. You will not be asked to facilitate the conversation or provide refreshments.

  • Agree to be identified as the host and the person who invited the others.

  • Communicate on behalf of the group if there are any follow up activities such as contacting technical leaders or scheduling another meeting.

The invitations, logistics, the refreshments and the facilitation will all be taken care of by the ACC team.

The 90-minute discussion would be focused around two questions:

  • What soil health practices have you recently incorporated or experimented with on your farm in the last few years, and how has that worked out?

  • What soil health practices are you are considering incorporating or experimenting with next, and what obstacles might be in the way?

Note:

These Community of Practice Peer group discussions are intentionally designed with no political agenda, no judgement of what others should or shouldn’t be doing and no one selling any product or service. It is simply a group of like-minded growers addressing and advancing their soil health priorities on their own terms.

We need good hosts. We hope you will consider being one!
